Joe Luxem

Support Center Technician

I’m Joe Luxem, an Information Systems student from Grand Valley State University, and I’m excited to be a new member to the i3 team.  I make it a point to constructively apply myself and cause positive change wherever I can.  Working with and learning more about technology is what excites and drives me to further my education and experiences.  I enjoy challenges that require critical thinking and meaningful thought.  As my college career has progressed, I’ve recognized the need to be involved and skilled in a diverse range of studies and skills.  I feel that i3 fits this need for me very well and I’m excited to become a vital part of the team.

I enjoy making other people’s lives easier and always strive to be a positive influence.  I very much prefer a low stress atmosphere and friendly, personal interactions, so helping to craft that atmosphere is a goal of mine.  I seriously appreciate and try to encourage a close-knit and welcoming work environment.  This is something that my education at Grand Valley State University has reinforced, along with a large emphasis on collaborative work, to encourage and improve productivity and enjoyment of work.  I always push myself to experience as much as I can in both education and business situations, and I believe this is a key to remaining relevant and skilled in my field.

When not in class or working, I try to keep myself busy with constructive and interesting tasks.  I enjoy tinkering with electronics, especially car audio equipment or various computer and mobile phone components. I also enjoy staying up-to-date with technology news and major headlines and I am always up to research a topic I don’t have a grasp on.  I try to keep my software development skills sharp by watching and following along with coding challenges, or simply interesting, different, or funny videos if I’m just looking for entertainment.  Outdoors in the Summer I love to go boating, swimming, fishing, and hiking, and in the Winter, I can be found skiing or sledding, or just trying to stay warm. Growing up in West Michigan has conditioned me to expect the unexpected and I don’t have any concrete plans to leave my home state; Michigan and its weather always has something in store!
