What is CISA & Why should you care?

Yesterday was a historic day in cyber security and privacy. The Senate passed CISA, Cyber Security Information Sharing Act, 74 to 21. This version is very similar to the others that passed in the House earlier this year. Now that the Senate passed it, this version will have to be reconciled with the 2 House versions before heading to President Obama’s desk.

HIPAA Compliance

Recently, Monica Donahue’s 19 year old daughter received a Facebook friend request and the story made the Grand Rapids Press. Surprised? I wouldn’t doubt it, because hardly ever does a Facebook friend request make the news. However, when the friend request is from a hospital security guard a day after a visit to that hospital and is in violation of HIPAA standards; it becomes a much bigger deal.

April 8, 2015 marked Betty Ford’s 97th birthday! In honor of her life and to celebrate the Former First Lady, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation hosted a birthday luncheon celebration on Tuesday, April 14th.

Guests were invited to the JW Marriott for a luncheon titled: “America’s First Ladies: An Enduring Legacy”. Dr. Lynne Cheney discussed the importance of First Ladies and how their significant role has and will continue to shape history.
